The international event of the open technology sector, LIBRECON 2020, will take place on November 11 in Bilbao. In this ninth edition, it will take on a new format, as it will be made online, adapted to the situation caused by the pandemic. In addition to the format, COVID-19 will also mark the content of this edition.
The international event in the open technology sector will highlight the challenges posed by the pandemic and the contributions of the Open community. Topics will include teleworking, cybersecurity, teletraining, e-commerce, open industry 4.0, the digital transformation of public administration and technological sovereignty.
The event, organized by the Basque Free Software Association (ESLE) and the Spanish Federation of Free Software Companies (Asolif), is aimed at the Open community, as well as local sector organizations, professional clusters, CIOs (Chief Information Officers), CTOs (Chief Technology Officers) and CEOs. (Chief Executive Officer) also to officials and the training sector.
Registration for this edition of the LIBRECON initiative has been available since yesterday (October 15) on the website www.librecon.io.
LIBRECON is the main international event in southern Europe in the open technology sector applied to strategic sectors of the economy, to be held in Bilbao on 11 November 2020.
LIBRECON is organized and organized every two years by the Association of Free Technology and Open Knowledge Companies of the Basque Country and Asolif, the national federation of free software companies.
LIBRECON, in the last edition held in Bilbao in 2018, gathered around 1,000 participants. This time, the pandemic comes at a time when OPEN is most interested in technologies, as the digital transformation accelerated by COVID 19 has highlighted the importance of having its own industry in strategic sectors such as technology.
Therefore, ESLE promotes for another year LIBRECON to show open source solutions in Telework, Telededucation, Electronic Commerce and Digital Transformation in public administrations, among other areas that have experienced tsunamis in recent months and need solutions.
Adapting to the situation in detail and with full security, LIBRECON 2020 will take place online.
In short, open work models and open technologies have the opportunity to strategically position themselves in this changing environment as a solution to the need for technological innovation.
