Lenovo Yoga Book 9i: a laptop with two screens (I)

What's better than a laptop with a single screen? One with two screens, of course. That is the striking proposition of the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i, a product that takes advantage of this concept with outstanding results.

Of course, the equipment impresses with this fully foldable dual screen, but it does not ignore the internal hardware. There we will find the 13th generation Intel Core processor and many options to deal with any common situation.

Design: A tablet that's twice as great

According to Lenovo, the new Yoga Book 9i is a dual-screen full-size OLED laptop. We are facing two 13.3-inch OLED panels with a resolution of 2.8K and a brightness of up to 400 nits.

These screens are occupied by very thin frames: the use of the front reaches 91%, but these OLED panels also have HDR Dolby VIsion support and the 16:10 format "stretches" the vertical so that you can enjoy it a little more, moving in that dimension.

Rounded edges on the sides only change the top edges on a screen with a small tab. Thanks to this, the team enjoys a promising FullHD camera with a privacy switch, but also an IR sensor that allows Windows Hello support and facial recognition.

There is no built-in physical keyboard here: we can use a screen with an on-screen keyboard, of course, but we can also use an external keyboard - a detachable Bluetooth model is offered. And a Smart Pen stylus and mouse to get the most out of a team that's like a dual-screen tablet that naturally invites (and lots of) touch.
On the very thin side (the total thickness is 15.95 mm) we do not find the array of ports that a typical laptop has: here we are limited to three USB-C ports that can be used to charge the device and can be used to charge the device. Versatile and powerful Thunderbolt 4 interface.

We are facing an evolution of teams that have already explored this territory: Lenovo has been doing it for a long time, and some time ago it surprised us with a ThinkPad X1 - and its successor, the Fold - which was unique with a flexible screen. The concept here is more functional - the folding screen theoretically simplifies things - but it certainly looks just as effective...or more so.
