Aeris, ReCero and Acté have been the three winning projects of the sixth edition of Innomakers4Health. The edition has been organized in collaboration between Wayra, the corporate venture capital of Telefónica, Pfizer and the Pfizer Foundation.
A program where innovation and technology meet health to face the challenges of the health sector to design solutions and create prototypes that improve the quality of life of the population.
This edition has had the participation of more than 100 aspiring entrepreneurs, divided into 20 teams. All the projects provided disruptive solutions using the latest technology available on the market to effectively combat antimicrobial multi-resistance.
First prize went to Aeris, awarded €3,000 for creating an AI-powered platform for the early detection of nosocomial infections (infections acquired in the hospital environment). Second prize, €2,000, went to ReCero for its device for depositing surplus antibiotics with an incentive system. Third place went to Acté, which designed a textile solution with antimicrobial technology, awarded €1,000.
Aeris, the winner of this sixth edition, will also have the opportunity to accelerate its project thanks to InnomakersLAB, the Pfizer hub together with Wayra, who, in turn, will give access to a six-month mentoring program; the possibility of working in its space located on Gran Vía in Madrid; access to Telefónica's multiple business units and the opportunity to be invested in by Wayra in the future.
Health and entrepreneurship have been highlighted as innovative solutions through the most disruptive technology on the market to benefit the health system. Students and entrepreneurs have been offered the opportunity to develop their full capacity for innovation to find technological solutions to global health problems, thanks to talent and discipline.
