In the 2024-2025 academic year, the Department of Education will offer a total of 170 training cycles and Vocational Education programs in 24 different professional families. In the next academic year, the offer of 6,886 places in face-to-face VET cycles represents a 34.8% increase compared to the places offered in the 2019-2020 academic year (5,109), and 221 new places compared to the 23/24 academic year.
Education presented the VET offer for the 2024-2025 period on March 19th in a large event held in the Reyno Arena in the Navarra Arena pavilion, in which hundreds of vocational students, teachers and members of the center's management from Navarra's educational institutions participated. There were also the members of the Vocational Education Council of Navarra and the managers of the general management of the VET Department; among others, the general director of the VET, Luis Calatayud and the Minister of Education, Carlos Gimeno, who closed the event.
In the online modality, from offering 13 cycles in the 2019-2020 academic year to 32 cycles in the 2024-2025 academic year (the offer has almost tripled), seven new online cycles have been established for the new academic year. This new virtual offer (an average of four vocational modules per cycle) represents 1,120 new online vocational training places. In total, for the 2024-2025 academic year, there will be 1,341 new places, new face-to-face teaching places plus increases in online teaching places.
As Luis Calatayud, general manager of the VET, pointed out, "it is an important and very diversified offer, growing in 19 new cycles (ten face-to-face, seven virtual and two modular), six of which are new. Profiles included in the catalog of Navarre titles". Specifically, the new titles are: Pharmaceutical and Biotechnological Production, Radiotherapy and Dosimetry, Communication Mediation and Tailored Clothing and Show Production, as well as Medium Degree Machinery Construction and Electromechanics Technician.
Calatayud added that the offer is "territorially very well cohesive". 13 of the 19 new units are offered in Pamplona and the region, and another six are distributed in the rest of Navarre.
Resources and infrastructure
For quality implementation, in the 2024-2025 academic year, the General Directorate of the Vocational Education Department estimates that it will invest around two million euros in the equipment and digitization of the public network of Navarra's Vocational Education centers.
All VET centers will have a digital training classroom (MRR program), which will enable the reference citizens of the centers to be trained in digitalization. Adult centers will also have these new rooms, adapting the training in these centers to the digitalization needs of their target audience. Four new ATECA applied technology classrooms will be created at CIP Sakana, CIP Lizarra, IES Ribera del Arga de Peralta and CISER-CENIFER.
Another important action at the level of infrastructure will be the transfer of the Navarra Integrated Educational School Center to the old Víctor Pradera school in Pamplona, which will become a new Vocational Training center from September this year. Also, important actions have been announced in CIP Doniban for a total of 115,000 euros to create a specific space for families in the textile, clothing and leather industries, finally, without forgetting the funding of one million euros for each center, for each of the five centers of excellence created by the Ministry of Education and Sports in Navarre's national network (CIP Virgen del Camino, CIP Agroforestal, CIP Burlada, Renovables "CISER" and CIP Donibane).
