On February 18, Bilbao will be the center of international entrepreneurship with the celebration of the GEM Global 2025 International Conference. This event, organized by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), will bring together experts, researchers, entrepreneurs and policy makers from more than 50 countries to analyze and promote the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem at a global level.
The GEM Global Report, recognized as the most reliable source of data on entrepreneurship worldwide, will be presented at this forum. Additionally, two more reports will be presented: the GEM Woman Report, on female leadership in entrepreneurship, and the GEM Sustainability Report, on the impact of entrepreneurship on sustainability.
GEM is the only source of global research that collects data on entrepreneurship directly from entrepreneurs themselves. The data obtained reflects their characteristics, motivations, ambitions and social attitudes.
In addition, the report includes GEM's National Entrepreneurship Context Index (NECI), which assesses the entrepreneurial context of each economy. This index is based on the scores given by national experts to various Entrepreneurship Framework Conditions in each participating country. It is a valuable tool for comparing different entrepreneurial ecosystems at a regional and global level.
The conference activities will take place in several emblematic locations in Bilbao, including the B Accelerator Tower (BAT), the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (Bizkaia Aretoa), the University of Deusto (CRAI) and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
