GAMESCOM

The GAME.EUS accelerator teams have had the opportunity to actively participate in the largest European gaming event, the most important conference in Europe on the potential of video games. The event covers a wide spectrum of topics; it shows that video game technologies help inspire innovation and master digitalisation in almost all economic and social areas.

The video game developers participated on 21, 22 and 23 August in Cologne, at the Koelnmesse congress exhibition space. Their objective was to meet with investors and publishers to present their projects in the world of gaming. During the weeks of the campus, one of the strong points that the teams worked on was the pitch, a specific technical speech to be given to investors and entrepreneurs. The agreements they sought to reach were key to financing their ideas and being able to develop professionally in the video game sector.

TEAMS AND VIDEO GAMES FROM THE GAME.EUS ACCELERATOR THAT PARTICIPATED IN GAMESCOM 2024:

-SidralGames – Enchufao

-Gaua Games – Darby is here forever

-Can Pixel Studio – Catcelona

-Ametz Games – Detective Firefly

-Delphra Games – Nomad Defender

SIGNIFICANT AND HOPEFUL ACHIEVEMENTS

gamescom 2024 received more than 335,000 visitors from around 120 countries, generating a new record of international reach with more than 310 million digital interactions. More than 32,000 professional visitors attended, mainly from the USA and Japan, and 1,462 exhibitors from 64 countries were counted, with a foreign share of 71%, 48 national pavilions from 37 countries.

Among the exhibitors were the GAME.EUS teams, who exceeded the expected expectations throughout the days of the event. They managed to meet potential investors and publishers who fit their projects, meetings in which they had to demonstrate all their skills to be financed by experts in the sector.

The overall assessment is more than positive. The event has been the best way to close the circle of the GAME.EUS 2024 campus. It has been a magnificent experience to live the gamescom and defend their projects, a unique opportunity that will propel them towards future challenges.

NEXT CHALLENGE: INDIEDEVDAY 2024

The most important independent video game fair in Spain will be held on September 27, 28 and 29 at La Farga, Carrer de Barcelona, 2, L´Hospitalet de Llobregat, 08901, Barcelona.

All the teams will participate in ‘IndieDevDay’ with their own stand. After having first-hand knowledge of such a relevant event as ‘gamescom’, they feel prepared for this occasion. Now, they will carry out a very similar task to that of Cologne but in a more comfortable and familiar environment. Their work will be closely linked to the projects they have developed during the GAME.EUS campus, since they will present the video games they worked on during the weeks that the campus lasted.
