The drones move from side to side and are encapsulated in a protective circular wire structure that forms a ball and allows them to collide without breaking. This innovative football concept, which unites technology and sport, is called Drone Soccer (soccer with drones) and the San Sebastian startup Flybble is a leader in the development of this new discipline in Spain through the Official Drone Soccer Spain League.
In this project are Nerea Pérez and Nikolas Iriondo, students of the degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation LEINN, from Mondragon Unibertsitatea. The idea was born from a trip they both made to Korea in search of new projects for their studies. There they were invited to an event for drone manufacturing companies, where they were able to personally meet representatives of the International Drone Soccer Federation.
Once this new sport modality was presented in open days, the objective of this startup is to begin creating teams to be able to create a Drone Soccer league in Spain. As soon as they complete this first goal, they hope to top it off with a trip to Korea with several of these teams so they can compete with local Korean teams. “The rules of the game are based on forming two teams of three or five players in the positions of goalkeeper, defense and scorer. Only the striker can score points by passing through the opposing team's goal, while the rest of the players will only be able to help the scorer in attacking plays," they say from the startup.
Among the services offered by this young company, the organization of STEAM programs stands out, the purpose of which is to offer interactive and fun educational experiences for the little ones.
As a firm specialized in Drone Soccer events, it provides an innovative and exciting experience for parties, sporting and corporate events... They offer materials and equipment rental services, as well as comprehensive technical assistance throughout the duration of the event.
