The Chinese search and online services giant has just released its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered conversational chatbot to the public.
Ernie Bot is now available on a dedicated Baidu page that allows users to register to start using it. It also lives inside the mobile search app, in the best style of Microsoft's Bing.
Based on the ERNIE 3.0 and PLATO language models, Ernie Bot already promises to produce high-quality text, summarize documents, answer questions, and even follow the thread of a conversation that allows users to "feel the heart."
An interesting point offered by this alternative is the possibility to create images from text directly from the chat window. It is enough to describe in text what you want for the application to work.
Ernie Bot is also adopting a similar mechanic seen in competitors, at least according to Baidu. Interactions with users will be collected and used to improve the operation of the chatbot.
