Danobatgroup has awarded a project designed by Tecnun students

In this edition, the participants have been grouped together to design a precision machine tool to run rail axles in an automated 4.0 environment.

Students faced the challenge of conceptualizing and sizing the machine, taking into account 12,000 axes per year, integrating the solution into an automated space, or loading and unloading parts.

The award was received by Paul Eizmendi, Ainhoa Taboada, Eric Roig and Juan Carlos Retegi. These include requirements such as accuracy, productivity or machine error analysis that affect accuracy and accuracy (budgeting error).

"The originality of the project, the argumentation and accuracy of the calculations proposed and the quality of the technical report (with numerous diagrams, graphs and images, about the operation of the solutions in the 4.0 environment) were the elements we considered to choose the winning team," said the jury president Harkaitz Urreta.

Prior to developing the projects, the Tecnun Master's students received practical and theoretical classes on precision concepts and 4.0 technologies at IDEKO Technology Center, Danobatgroup's innovation engine.

The purpose of the awards signed with Danobatgroup and Tecnun in December 2015 is to strengthen ties with the university community and facilitate the transfer of what is learned in college and graduate schools to real manufacturing environments.
