Xiaomi has been able to put a foldable mobile phone, a smartwatch, a washing machine, a car and a humanoid robot at the same event. The Chinese company has unveiled its CyberOne, its first humanoid robot capable of detecting emotions and moving at a speed of 3.6 km/h.
In its presentation we were able to see what appears to be the first functional version. Lei Jun arrived on stage holding a flower that he had given to the CEO of Xiaomi. It seems to be in the early stages of its development, but what we've seen so far reminds us a little of Tesla's Optimus.
The company has not released too many details about the robot. Lei Jun commented that the robot weighs 52 kilos and measures 1.77 meters; so he is light and of medium height. It moves at a speed of 3.6 km/h and, among other things, it is able to hold things in its hands and walk (in a rather peculiar way, as we have seen).
Xiaomi's ambition with this robot is high. According to the company's CEO, CyberOne has a system called My Sense, which allows for the detection of emotions (happiness, sadness...) and spatial vision. In his head is an OLED screen and the colors change depending on the context.
The robot moves thanks to a mechanical coupling module with a maximum torque of 300 Nm. Something interesting is that it has 21 points to be able to move freely and in fact we saw in the presentation that it puts the kukubilko and moves the arm.
Information is scarce, at least for now, and it's clear that it still has a way to go. In fact, we only know that they are in the works, but it doesn't have a release date or anything like that. We know it's expensive to produce right now. According to Xiaomi, each robot would cost between 86,000 and 100,390 euros to change, more or less. It will be time to be careful.
Optimus, Tesla's humanoid robot
Tesla's Android prototype has become a reality, the company's CEO Elon Musk announced. Its name is 'Optimus' and the project was already presented last year under the temporary name 'Tesla Bot'.
Specifically, the Optimus prototype was shown worldwide in the fall, on September 30. As Musk explained at the Qatar Economic Forum, the humanoid robot is capable of walking 8 kilometers per hour and will lift approximately 70 kilograms of dead weight.
In addition, Tesla's founder announced that there would be a second "Artificial Intelligence Day", and the idea of the "Tesla Bot" was presented at an event. Although this event in 2021 was the main feature of the autonomous driving program, last year the 'highlight' was expected to be the introduction of the android.
The announcement of the prototype brought Optimus closer to becoming a reality in the Tesla factories.
