The government approved seven provincial decrees at its May 11 meeting. They will appear in the catalog of Vocational Training qualifications for the implementation of the structure and curriculum of the new Vocational Training Intermediate and Higher Education qualifications.
Among the degrees approved, and proposed by the General Directorate of Vocational Training, are innovative profiles for the creation of qualified professionals in important sectors of the Navarrese economy; such as water management, documentation and health administration, food marketing or transformation and wood transformation, with a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
The list of new degrees helps to design a curriculum adapted to the needs of the market and students of Navarre, paying special attention to teamwork, autonomy and the development of personal and social skills related to initiative, decision-making and public attention.
In recent years, there has been a significant increase in studies such as Information Technology and Communications (up 109%), Agriculture (57%), Energy and Water (200%) and Installation and Maintenance (50%), responding clearly to the challenges of digital transformation and sustainability. diena.
The provincial decrees approved by the Provincial Executive establish the structure and curriculum of the Food Marketing Technician, Clothing and Fashion Technician, Bakery, Confectionery and Confectionery Technician, Wood Processing and Transformation Technician, Higher Technician in Water Management, Documentation and Health Administration Technician and the title of Free Time Guide Technician. These qualifications are in line with the three approved at the government session on May 4, corresponding to the structure and curriculum of special regime sports education: Mid-Mountain Technician, Climbing Technician and Canyoning Technician.
With regard to the Provincial Decree establishing the structure and curriculum for the title of Technical Guide for the Environment and Leisure in the Autonomous Community of Navarre, the LOGSE cycle is an update of the new organic education law, LOMLOE, from 1,400 to 2,000 hours, ) and strengthening other activities, such as horseback riding, climbing wall or rope work. Curriculum also established for the current 2021-2022 academic year.
Some of these qualifications, such as Clothing and Fashion or Bakery, Confectionery and Confectionery Technicians, will be implemented in the current 2021-22 academic year and the rest will be implemented in the next 2022-23 academic year.
In addition to being a reference for initial vocational training, the ten qualifications studied, together with the other vocational training qualifications, are for employment training and skills verification procedures.
The updating of the vocational training regulatory framework is a coordinated employment strategy proposed by the European Union with the aim of ensuring a desirable correspondence between vocational qualifications and the labor market needs as a tool for skilled workers and free movement for mobility, explicitly enshrined in the EU Treaty.
The supply of Vocational Training education for the next 2022-2023 academic year will grow in 31 new cycles and training programs in Navarre, which represents a year-on-year increase of 13%. In total, 157 different vocational training cycles and programs (273 units) will be offered in 24 vocational families, which makes Navarre the most diversified Autonomous Community in terms of percentages.
Specifically, the increase in supply for the next academic year is divided into 14 new Intermediate Cycles, one of which is online; 12 new higher education cycles, all bilingual and 3 online, and 5 new specialization courses (called VT masters). In addition to the offer of new cycles, 4 more rooms in Applied Technology (ATECA), 19 more rooms in Entrepreneurship and the new Digital Classroom and Experimentation will be established.
The Provincial Council has highlighted the important progress that Navarre is making in European vocational training, with 47% of students indicating the aim of carrying out this type of educational training. It started at 32% in the 2018-2019 academic year and has now reached 38%, reducing the gap by 6%. With the offer planned for the next 2022-2023 academic year, it is expected to approach 40% of the students enrolled in the different cycles and programs of Vocational Training.
