Bizkaia, employing marginalized youth -B

Also, as he stated, with GazteOn, the rate of young people entering the labor market has increased year by year, because year after year they start working faster, the internships are shorter and the job placement processes are easier.

The reason for this is, above all, that there have been legal changes in the area of foreignness and that they have been more adapted to the needs of companies and what companies have learned in previous editions. At the same time, one of the foundations of the rate of entering the labor market has been to strengthen the loyalty of young people to their commitment to employment. On the other hand, the program is consolidating the economic sectors that have the greatest strength in Bizkaia: industry, construction and environmental sustainability.

On the other hand, Vice President Mikel Torres stated that the employment of young people is one of the highest priorities of the Department of Economy, Labor and Employment and reminded that the 2021-2024 Youth Employment Plan is currently underway, a choke plan designed to restore youth employment.

This strategy sets out some actions to help young people get quality employment. Thanks to these actions, they will have the opportunity to acquire the necessary qualifications, skills and experiences for the transition from the world of education to the world of work, by combining employment and training opportunities, facilitating recruitment in companies, youth entrepreneurship or first work experience, he said. At the end of the Plan in 2024, there will be 104,189 young people who will participate in employment programs and activities.

The needs of people and companies

GazteOn is a commitment to fully integrate young people who are at risk of social exclusion into society, but also a commitment to the need for companies to include people in their workforces to meet the current needs of the production network in Bizkaia.

Since the launch of this program, young people treated by provincial services to promote inclusion (as part of the Youth Strategy) have joined the program (adults and up to 23 years old). From 2024 onwards, the attention given to young people between 16 and 18 years of age who are in a situation of protecting children and adolescents and who are not taking regular training studies must be added to this.

Social diagnosis and specialized guidance are carried out with these people, with comprehensive employment support. In this case, according to the needs of each person, adapted training is included (essential skills in languages or mathematics), as well as job mediation and professional experience. In terms of professional experience, they are offered practical training in workplaces and professions related to each route.

In addition, if necessary, they are given a grant for the basic needs of housing, food or transport. This grant has become a minor issue after the introduction of Guaranteed Income to young people between the ages of 18 and 23.
