In this growing market dispute over the number of mobile applications, getting into the top 10 downloaded applications in Spain is quite an achievement.
According to data from Annie, these are the applications with the highest number of users in Spain and the highest number of users in the Android operating system in the first week of November 2020: WhatsApp has once again been the most used application in Spain. However, searches have won in 2020, ranking second and third in the Google Chrome and Google rankings, respectively. Youtube has managed to rise several places this year to fourth place and, in closing, has become a haven for many users when they needed tutorials, information or entertainment.
Gmail is one of the most powerful tools in this pandemic, ranking fifth, followed by Google Play Services and Google Drive, which ranks ninth, with Google Maps, the Internet giant as the company with the most applications. Eighth place is Facebook, with Instagram in tenth place.
As for the applications downloaded on Android in Spain, we see that it remains the leader among us, not only the downloaded application, but also the game of the moment. Pluto TV came in second with free video streaming content. The Covid Radar app ranks third on that list. This year has been a pandemic all our lives. One of the most important data in this ranking is that El Corte Inglés has managed to rise to sixth place with its new application with omnichannel tools and El Corte Inglés Plus, after launching a new subscription model.
Another great novelty we can see on the list is SaraMart, one of the Chinese Wish style markets. An eCommerce with more than 5 million products, including fashion, accessories, cosmetics and some electronics and home appliances, has gained some popularity among the applications downloaded in Spain, ranking 7th. TikTok continues to be among the downloaders, now at No. 8, in this ranking with tools for teleworking and remote analysis, such as Google Meet and Google Classroom.
The applications with the highest number of users in Spain are slightly different from iOS operating systems compared to Android, as you can see from last week's data from Annie's list. The changes are noticeable in applications with more users. WhatsApp only ranks fifth in this ranking, while YouTube falls to tenth place in iOS.
In terms of the most downloaded iOS apps in Spain, Radar Covid is the first to become the absolute leader on this list, followed by Vinted, a market for buying and selling second-hand clothes, Telegram, and fourth among the US.
El Corte Inglés maintains its 6th position in iOS and TikTok is also enjoyed by users of Apple devices, as well as Zoom and Google Meet, two tools that are very useful for working on telework.
If we compare the world rankings, there is not much difference with Spain. On Android, most users worldwide go to use Google apps: along with Chrome, YouTube, Google, Facebook apps: WhatsApp ranks fourth, Facebook ranks sixth, and Instagram ninth.
