Innovative parking system

Tecnalia has developed an innovative parking aid system. The new companion features flight time cameras to improve route estimation and 3D alerting of collisions.

The Basque technology corporation has designed a new companion for parking vehicles with 3D alerting vehicles to deal with collisions and improved conventional methods.

The new system proposed by the Basque technology center reconstructs the objects around the vehicle, using information taken with a flight-time camera (ToF, Time-to-Flight, in English), which helps to determine possible intervals to deal with potential collisions and parking spaces, the exact location of the components. in addition to calculating.

This new technology detects vehicle registrations in the area, thanks to the pixel-to-3D ratio, reported through a release.

Tecnalia BRTA (Basque Research and Technology Alliance) is a member of the Scientific-Technological Consortium, together with 15 other Basque scientific agents: four collaborative research centers - CIC Biogune, CIC Nanogune, CIC Biomagune and CIC Energigune - and Azterlan, Azti, Ceit, Cidetec, Gaiker, Ideko, Ikerlan, Lortek, Neiker, Tekniker and Vicometch technology centers.

About Tecnalia

Tecnalia Corporation was founded in 2001 as a technology corporation, and its main objective was to contribute to the development of the economic and social environment by using and promoting technological innovation. To this end, he developed and expanded research internationally.

This strategic treaty was the initiative of Inasmet, Labein and Robotiker. Their commitment was to unite their efforts, to become a bigger group and to allow Tecnalia to reach the highest levels of competitiveness in the market. The goals were:

  • Critical mass to compete.
  • Specialization in market and technology.
  • Technological excellence.
  • Integrated and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide value to the client to reflect on their business results and social well-being.
  • The initiative was also attractive to other technology centers in the area, and new members gradually joined the corporation.

Currently, it is composed of Azti, Neiker and Tecnalia Research & Innovation technology centers.

At TECNALIA, they face the challenges of the future, to see, identify and develop technological, imaginative and creative solutions that bring real results.

They operate worldwide, converting knowledge into GDP, improving people's quality of life, creating business opportunities in companies.
