Analysis | OnePlus 6T McLaren
OnePlus has presented its most exclusive smartphone to date, the OnePlus 6T McLaren. A limited edition of your latest smartphone that comes with a careful packaging, a design with the seal of the automotive firm and an improvement in performance thanks to adding more RAM and a faster charger.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren is the most expensive model of the young company that these weeks has celebrated its fifth anniversary. At a price of 699 euros, 150 euros more than the most affordable version of the 6T, offers more performance than any and a few terminations that make you have more premium sensations than usual.
The 6T McLaren has 10 GB of RAM, more than any of the firm, which makes it especially fluid and allows you to recover the game or return to an application without suffering the least. The differences with 6T in this regard are minimal, since the high performance of the mobile launched in October is still one of the best on the market thanks to its 8 GB of RAM and Snapdragon 845 processor.
However, the real differential element of the OnePlus 6T is its new Warp Charge 30 charger. Until now, the company's terminals had the Fast Charge charging system, which charged the phone to 50% in 30 minutes. Now, with the new technology of 30 watts and 6 amps, that period is shortened by 10 minutes, which means that by connecting it in a short period of time, we can have autonomy for the whole day.
As it happens in the 6T, the McLaren has a battery of 3,700 mAh that, optimized through the operating system, allows to stretch the autonomy beyond a day.
Of course, the battery of the new phone has been updated to provide additional security, with an eight-layer protection plate to provide better cooling and not lose speed.
The Warp Charge charger is also compatible with previous OnePlus models, although in this case the corresponding charging speed will be Farst Charge. Of course, even if you have a Warp charger, you can still use the iconic Red Fast Charge Type C cables from OnePlus in the new socket.
McLaren seal outside and inside
Beyond the power and speed of the new smartphone of the company, another of the inducements for which to opt for this model of 6T are its terminations.
Although it also comes in glass and with the same lines as the other models, the design conceived by OnePlus to bring the seal of McLaren to the device is elegant at the same time as striking. Get that so-called 'Wow effect' that only the best phones in the market can achieve.
At first sight, an orange finish stands out on the side and bottom edges of the iconic orange papaya from the car company. Some lines that frame the McLaren logo that can be found at the bottom, which in the back shares space with the OnePlus icon located in the center.
More subtle, but putting the icing on the design, you can find a pattern inspired by carbon fiber, the material that McLaren took for the first time in Formula 1, under the glass. In this way, as the light reflects on the smartphone, it will appear under the rear.
Beyond the external design, the McLaren seal can also be found in the phone software. With a layer of personalization of the system in black and orange tones as well as the possibility of adjusting certain animations or funds to the imprint of the car company, it prints character to the terminal.
A luxury packaging for the most exclusive model
The improvements in the performance and design of the phone are not the only arguments to get hold of the new special edition of the OnePlus 6T McLaren. The smartphone is accompanied by a high-level packaging that will delight fans passionate about both brands.
It comes in a box that emulates the carbon fiber pattern and inside you can find a careful book that reviews the history of both companies. Through an application that is on the phone, you can experience the story with augmented reality with a greater immersion.
The pack is completed with a complete case with Karbon finish and one of the jewels of the car company: a piece of handmade carbon fiber and framed in a small glass box.
