Quantum computing continues to advance to become an everyday technology in the coming years. In Euskadi, a quantum computing ecosystem is germinating, supported by several startups, hubs, research and education centers and various support initiatives. One of these projects is led by Alfa Quantum, whose objective is to spread knowledge about this disruptive technology in educational centers.
Among the various activities promoted by this initiative are its quantum literacy sessions, the promotion of scientific culture, promoting STEAM vocations among students, as well as “democratizing” knowledge about these technologies, as well as attracting and retaining talent capable of develop projects with quantum computing.
To carry out this educational work, it has its own interdisciplinary team that combines “a deep knowledge of the educational system with technology pedagogy,” its managers describe. The project also has the support of institutional partners such as the UPV/EHU, the Provincial Council, through Lantik and the collaborative strategy, Quantum Ecosystem, designed to promote the development and application of quantum technologies in the territory of Bizkaia.
Along these lines, they are committed to a change in the educational paradigm that drives the need for the acquisition of digital skills by students, as well as the development of a STEAM learning methodology in educational centers and institutes.
