A successful competition

The EHUazoka, the University Orientation Fair of the University of the Basque Country, received a total of 11,200 visitors, surpassing the data before the pandemic. The fair ended at the Bizkaia Campus, after passing through the Gipuzkoa and Araba Campuses. There was also a large number of participants in the information sessions. 14,100 places were filled, as some people attended more than one session. EHUazoka is part of the orientation activities organized by the University of the Basque Country, and is the main orientation activity. Through this, the public university's commitment to guidance is revealed, as a key tool for making the right decisions when choosing the degrees that pre-university students will take.

UPV/EHU rector Eva Ferreira congratulated the development of this edition: "Choosing university studies is an important decision, and it is not always easy. For this reason, EHUazoka wants to help students make a better choice of university studies and this year's edition has been a great success. Here is information about our degree offer, admission procedure, fees and available scholarships. But the most important thing is that there is a personal and close relationship between the teachers of the faculties and schools and the future students, with their help to clarify all doubts".

Fernando Tapia, vice chancellor for Students and Employability of the University of the Basque Country, emphasized the importance of these orientation conferences. "EHUazoka is an essential orientation activity for future students and their families, as it gives them the opportunity to get a clear idea of our broad academic offer and the services offered by the university, from the heads of faculties and schools. Through personalized attention at the stands and information sessions, prospective students have the opportunity to receive the best guidance, which is a key element in the process of choosing university studies. This is evidenced by the increase in the number of visitors we receive every year."

The EHUazoka is part of the activities carried out by the University of the Basque Country every year as part of the Access Program, so that pre-university students have as much information as possible before choosing their studies. This program also includes the participation of pre-university students in the Open Doors Conferences that will take place between March 15 and 23, and pre-university students carrying out Practical Activities related to the degrees of their interest (in which students actively participate and improve their knowledge about the qualifications are activities). These activities will take place between May 27 and June 21.
