According to the Financial Times, BerriUp, the first private accelerator in Spain, and Rural Kutxa, a leading financial institution with a presence in the Basque Country, Navarre and La Rioja, have joined forces once again to organize the fourth call for the selection and acceleration of startups. In addition, this new call has the collaboration of the Artizarra Foundation, a Foundation that promotes and supports initiatives that create impact through personal, responsible and sustainable commitment and that transform the territory socially and economically.
This call has given special importance to projects from Gipuzkoa. In this edition, the selected companies were Opportunity Heath S.L. from Navarre and ComexSoft from Gipuzkoa. The winning companies will enjoy a four-month personalized training program, specially designed to promote the growth and scaling of their projects.
First, there is ComexSoft, a SaaS solution for consumer companies that integrates competitive intelligence and Big Data analysis in real time. Through an interactive dashboard, it allows manufacturers and distributors to monitor prices, products, competition and qualitative trends, facilitating strategic decisions. With functionalities such as price analysis, benchmarking and product innovation radar, ComexSoft helps companies anticipate market changes and optimize their commercial positioning at a regional, national or international level.
In second place is Opportunity Health S.L., a company focused on the development of innovative solutions for the healthcare sector, which stands out for its main project: an automatic and autonomous drain cleaner. This device is designed to provide a quick and effective response to drowning situations, providing an accessible emergency tool. The company focuses on technological innovation and is committed to improving the safety and well-being of people in critical health conditions.
According to Amaia Jugo, director of the Artizarra Foundation, “The launch of this call for Artizarra, in collaboration with agents such as Rural Kutxa of Navarra and BerriUp, reflects, on the one hand, our philosophy and roots in working and promoting online, and, on the other, our commitment to supporting entrepreneurial culture, innovation and entrepreneurial people.”
Gonzalo Soto, head of the Entrepreneurial Startup Line at Rural Kutxa, stated, “After selecting the projects, I contacted the winning startups again, and it is impressive to see their evolution over this time. I am sure that the acceleration program will give them the necessary impetus to continue growing and take advantage of new market opportunities.”
Finally, Patricia Casado, director of BerriUp, says: "This edition involves two very different projects, which we believe will enrich the acceleration program. In addition, the two promoters have very different paths, which is also a circumstance that gives them a special opinion. We look forward to four very interesting months with Rebeca and Germán, our goal is to help them launch this journey in the market."
BerriUp held the final of the Rural Kutxa - Artizarra Fundazioa call on June 14, at the EKINN business center of the San Sebastian Development Agency, where the projects that will benefit from the BerriUp acceleration program were decided.
During the event, a total of six finalist projects had the opportunity to present their ideas to more than 50 guests and then answer questions from the jury.
