Xiaomi, close to augmented reality (II)

ShareMe

Many of us send and receive files almost every day from our personal computer, a fairly daily action, often not as convenient as we would like, because we will have to use Android's USB-C connection to make it as efficient and secure as possible.

But all Xiaomi users who don't like to use this method should know that thanks to the ShareMe application you will be able to do this type of transfer completely wirelessly via WiFi, a very useful tool that can be used for free without installing third-party applications.

Files wirelessly

ShareMe is a tool developed by the Xiaomi team, specially designed to easily receive or send files between devices using the Wi-Fi connection of our terminal, but it can also be used with our computer.

Thanks to this additional function, transferring files between our computer and our mobile phone will be much easier than if we do it by cable, where we will have to connect both with a cable that we often do not find. Using this free method and without installing anything extra, ShareMe is installed by default on our Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO.

Snapdragon Spaces

Snapdragon Spaces is Qualcomm's new platform focused on delivering augmented reality through apps for Android devices. Qualcomm's new proposal comes at the same time that companies such as Nvidia, Microsoft or Meta have shown their cards in the metaverse.

From Qualcomm itself they do not talk about the metaverse and they talk about augmented reality, although the different companies that collaborate with Qualcomm in the statement of the new platform direct the speech to that metaverse that seems to meet the expectations of so many companies.
Snapdragon Spaces is an evolution of the existing XR1 and XR2 5G and this time it adds spatial mapping, aircraft detection and environment and scene understanding. Especially the novelty when augmented reality glasses know better where they are and when they adapt what they offer us according to where we use them.

The first glasses to use this platform will be the Lenovo ThinkReality A3 glasses, introduced earlier this year but not yet available.
Along with Lenovo, Qualcomm explained that two other Android manufacturers such as Xiaomi and OPPO are also ready to work together with Snapdragon Spaces and we could see glasses from these two manufacturers looking forward to the spring of 2022.
