CES 2023: Everything you need to know
After two years in a row in a virtual format, CES was back in all its glory last year, with plenty of interesting announcements for all kinds of products, from the latest technology in TVs to the most advanced hardware for laptops.
CES 2023 returned in January, and many headline announcements were expected in all sorts of tech categories from manufacturers like Samsung, Sony, LG and Panasonic.
As one of the biggest brands presented at CES 2023, Samsung, as usual, held a press conference to announce things. The South Korean company's tagline for this year's edition is "Bringing Calm to Our Connected World," suggesting it will focus on smart home products rather than shiny new TVs or laptops.
That's not to say they won't announce QD-OLED or Galaxy news, but we think the latest integration between the Matter smart home protocol and the Samsung SmartThings range of devices is the highlight of Samsung's announcements. a series of revelations related to the smart home.
Sony
Sony was a real enigma when it came to its CES plans: you never know if they're going to announce a traditional TV or a revolutionary electric car. Therefore, it is difficult to predict what the Japanese company can present at CES 2023.
Sony's Vision-S EV was going to make an appearance anyway, as the company confirmed in a tweet, that Sony Honda Mobility (a company dedicated to electric cars) would take the stage with Sony, but it remained to be seen whether they would say anything more about the PlayStation VR 2 headset or the PS5 slim console. about At the very least, it was likely that Sony would unveil some new 4K and 8K displays to drum up interest in its 2023 TV lineup.
LG
LG's track record at CES is one of the most turbulent we've seen. Like Sony, the manufacturer often surprises everyone by unveiling quirky products alongside traditional TVs, and CES 2023 was not expected to be any different.
For example, we were expecting to hear more about the 27-inch OLED gaming monitor, as well as the LG C3 OLED TV, but the brand's impressive new high-resolution stretchable display technology might have stolen the spotlight from everything else.
