Project Hazel, futuristic mask

According to Razer, the following is the smartest mask in the world. Project Hazel (which is still a concept, not a real product) is proposed as an alternative to traditional masks, as it has an integrated microphone and speaker to facilitate communication. It can also be disinfected for reuse and includes special lighting elements from Razer.

As Razer says, the N95 is a smart mask. First of all, it is worth mentioning that he does not yet have any medical certificate. In fact, the mask is just a conceptual project at the moment and there is no way to know when or how it will be on the market. It is neither the first nor the last in these times we live in.

Futuristic mask

There are several elements that make this mask stand out from the others. Of all these elements, the most impressive are the two side filters of the mask. Active filters allow CO2 to be expelled and oxygen to enter when inhaled. They indicate that 95% of the particles will be ready to be filtered through the air, including the COVID-19 virus. Filters are removable and interchangeable, allowing the mask to be reused. It is not yet clear how or how often this process will need to be done, although they propose to notify the user via a mobile app whenever a change is requested. On the other hand, the mask has a disinfectant box for cleaning it in its entirety. We also find a microphone and speakers inside these filters. The idea of this is to improve communication with others. The microphone picks up what is being spoken and amplifies it outward through two filters. Added to this is the transparent mask that makes lips and gestures easier to read, according to Razer. Finally, the side filters include LED rings that allow the user to place the desired color RGB lights. Also, at night, the internal LEDs illuminate the mouth to make lip reading and gestures easier again.

Elsewhere, the mask has a silicone protector on the sides to close the air inlet beyond what passes through the filters from the outside to the inside. It also has adjustable ear strips, as long as the mask fits better on each user’s face and size.

For now, that’s what we know about the mask. Project Hazel still needs development and certification before it reaches users. Regardless of what happens with COVID-19, masks can have a promising future in a world where we are increasingly aware of the importance of protecting ourselves from the outside air. And while it may look weird with these LEDs, it’s more discreet than others.

Characteristics

N95 Surgical Respiration: In addition to the high filtering efficiency of the bacteria in the mask, the mucus has a high resistance to fluids, protecting it from drops and splashes.

Active ventilation: The detachable ventilation of the smart mask regulates the flow of air and is able to filter at least 95% of the air particles.
Self-sterilization function: Project Hazel comes with a special charging box that kills bacteria and viruses with internal UV light by charging the mask.
Clear and transparent design: Enjoy a better social interaction with others as they can talk and see facial expressions easily. Low light mode: The inside of the smart mask automatically lights up when it is dark so that you can express yourself clearly, regardless of the light conditions.
Voiceamp technology: Thanks to the integrated combination of microphone and amplifier, technology ensures your speech, even when you’re in disguise.
