Scandinavian company Nokia continues to launch basic phones with features that make them much smarter than their predecessors. And with designs that do not envy fashionable mobile phones such as Samsung or Huawei foldables, albeit in a more modest version.

Basic mobile phones known in English as "Feature Phones" still have their place in the market, a small one, which is commendable with all the smartphone competition they face. And Nokia is, without a doubt, the most prominent manufacturer when it comes to this basic type of mobile phone. Especially when it comes to foldable models, and we are not talking about the foldable ones that are trending in the market, but the ones we know as the shell type. Now the brand has introduced a new model, the Nokia 2780 Flip, with an attractive design that combines the classic look of these phones with modern lines.

This phone stands out for its software, because it has the KaiOS operating system behind Google and which allows us to use applications such as WhatsApp, Google Maps, Facebook or the Mountain View search engine itself. It is a model with a foldable design, reminiscent of the iconic models of the beginning of the century, a design with two screens, the main and the secondary.

The main one is 2.7” in size; as well as TFT technology, which offers us a fairly basic resolution. The secondary screen measures 1.77 inches and is perfect for viewing all notifications without opening the phone. It is a phone that comes with Snadpragon 215 processor, which is very basic, but which gives it a lot of power to perform very well in all situations. This processor operates at a speed of 1.3 GHz and is a modem capable of downloading data at a speed of 150 megabytes.

It has 512 megabytes of RAM, as well as 4GB of internal storage. Having KaiOS 3.1 doesn't require powerful specs, and it works flawlessly with those specs. It is compatible with dual-band Wi-Fi networks, and offers us an FM Radio and an Mp3 player. The battery it has is 1450mAh and is removable, which is no longer common in smartphones. This allows us to have instant energy by replacing the battery with another one that is already charged.

This phone comes with a very simple camera, so much so that it only has a 5 megapixel sensor on the outer cover; so it's a decent quality for taking decent photos in good light conditions. It also has an LED flash that will light up the scene.

For now, the phone has been marketed in the United States, where it has been put on sale for around 90 euros. This model joins the two other clamshell phones that the brand already has, the Nokia 2660 Flip, which is almost identical to this one, and the Nokia 2720Flip. In fact, we are not able to clarify the real differences between the two Flip phones. In any case, it is a new variant that we will see later in Spain.
