Although we already thought that we had seen it all when it comes to smartphones, Motorola has just broken this belief in a big way, since during the Lenovo Tech World 2023 they have shown the latest prototype they are working on, which consists of a smartphone with a flexible screen, capable of adapting to the user's needs to the point of becoming a smart watch.
Folding screens are little by little gaining more popularity among users, mainly due to the need to have a device that can be folded and made smaller to carry with them given that mobile phones are increasingly larger.
And as we always say, technology is constantly advancing, so someone had to do it and Motorola has been in charge of taking a step further when it comes to folding smartphones with its new prototype.
It is a new device that stands out for its pOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, which has surprised the world with its ability to be folded and change shape according to the user's needs at all times.
This adaptive screen can be adjusted from a flat format, the typical one that any smartphone can have, and there is also the option of folding only a part, to be able to leave it "standing" without having to hold it or hold it with another tool, something very useful, for example, for video calls. When fully extended, this screen reaches 6.9 inches, like any other Android smartphone, but when we stand it up, it reduces to about 4.3 inches.
But what makes this mobile phone prototype special is that you can fold this screen to the point of forming it like a bracelet or strap and use it as if it were a watch. When users have it in this format they will have a more basic smartphone experience, since they can only access certain functions.
They will be able to receive notifications in addition to using different apps such as the camera, messaging apps or even Google Maps, in this way the phone becomes a kind of smartwatch with the same functions as the exterior screen of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra.
