Training offer
In HETEL schools, as in the rest of the Vocational Training schools in the Basque Country, the training cycles that make up the majority of the training offer and are in the greatest demand are as follows:
Higher Level: Automation and Industrial Robotics; Administration and Finances; Design in Mechanical Manufacturing, Production Programming in Mechanical Manufacturing, Industrial Mechatronics and Social Integration, and Intermediate Cycles: Mechanization, Electrical and Automatic Installations, Electromechanical Maintenance, Supplementary Nursing Care and Administrative Management, and at Basic Level, Administrative Management.
Only 12 educational cycles receive 50% of all students (the other 50% is distributed among 65 other educational cycles). And 9 of these cycles are industrial or technological, representing 38% of all students. From this it can be concluded that the field of industry and technology (STEAM) is essential at HETEL. Young people continue to demand cycles of an industrial nature, increasing this demand more and more. In fact, only 28% of students who have completed their studies have done so in non-STEAM courses, and 72% (from 61% in the previous year) in STEAM courses.
Masculinized
And the girls who have chosen the Dual modality, which is usually linked to the STEAM cycles, have an 83.1% insertion. But when it comes to women, there is a lot of work ahead. In fact, this data is for women who take STEAM courses, as they are generally the ones that offer a dual career. Of the 10 educational cycles that include the majority of women who have completed their studies, only 2 are considered STEAM (Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory and Analytical and Quality Control Laboratory). Therefore, women's commitment to Vocational Education is currently based on professional areas other than STEAM, and only 14% choose these cycles. In the STEAM classroom, with 25 students, there are only 22 boys and 3 girls, and that, although 34% are women in Basque Vocational Education, but in HETEL this number drops to 26.8%, due to the cycles it provides.
