It has just presented what is now the fastest supercomputer in the world, known as the Condor Galaxy-1 (CG-1) that has 54 million cores and a processing capacity of 4 exaflops.

They have it located in Santa Clara in California, and will be operated by an artificial intelligence company, specifically by Cerebras, a US firm.

The supercomputer unveiled by Abu Dhabi-based tech holding company G42 aims to create infrastructure for the futuristic world. Basically, they have built this system to help solve the biggest problems facing humanity today."Shipping a single model on thousands of tiny GPUs takes months from dozens of people with an exceptional experience," said Andrew Feldman, CEO of Cerebras Systems.

So instead of using a central supercomputer, what they're doing is creating a set of interconnected AI supercomputers, capable of reducing the model's training time.

Can be used to train 600 billion parameter models

They claim that thanks to their model, all configuration is done in a matter of minutes and can be done by a single person. Basically, this set of interconnected supercomputers will have a combined processing power of 36 exaflops, something that is unprecedented.

AMD's EPYC processor cores power the system and feature 54 million AI-optimized compute cores with 388 terabits per second of fabric bandwidth and 82TB of memory storage.

The system can deliver 4 exaflops of computing power, with a 16-bit calculation, i.e. four times faster than the world's fastest supercomputer.Its creators are convinced that it can be used to train 600,000 million parameter models.

They also have plans to introduce two more installations of the supercomputer in the United States, but in early 2024, and also aim to offer a model for cloud services to customers.
