Impossible is just a word
As in previous editions, enlightED brought together some of the best international thinkers to address the challenges of learning in the digital age. Susan David, psychiatrist Alok Kanojia and co-founder of Healthy Gamer, Ousman Umar, founder of NASCO Feeding Minds and CEO of Nasco Tech and new technology expert Kenneth Cukier are some of the highlights.
In the closing session, the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Margrethe Vestager, put users at the center of everything, because, as she stated, thanks to the people, there has been an unprecedented push to protect regulations online. As the executive vice-president of EE stated, "in this digital world we live in, it is essential to acquire digital skills. No one can be left behind because this is not Europe".
In the closing ceremony, the Minister of Education and Training, Pilar Alegría, was also present, and she analyzed how and where education should go in this digital age based on a basic question, "Why digitize education?". In the words of the Minister, digitization must be a tool that fulfills the goals of the education system: to obtain quality education for everyone, to obtain a more personalized education, to enable young people to take advantage of their talent and to achieve inclusiveness and reduce inequalities.
